Overnight, waves were still big at Zuma Beach, pounding in at about 6 feet.
Lunar high tides are decreasing this week but will turn around, with very high lunar tides predicted starting Sunday. Thursday's predicted high tide is 6.4 feet at 11:47 a.m. Add the 1.6-foot Kelvin wave for an actual high tide of 8 feet, with surf of 6 feet above that — unheard of in normal times, and about a half-foot lower than earlier this week.
