Hot weekend ahead, but no repeat of March heat wave
UC meteorologist Daniel Swain says temperatures will push into the 90s, with pollen levels expected to spike after recent rain.
Southern California can expect a very hot weekend — but nothing like the big heat wave we got in March. That's the prediction from UC meteorologist Daniel Swain.
He says this weekend will be hot, but "nothing earth-shattering, nothing on the level of anomalous that we saw in March. But it will continue to be hot again, well into the 90s if not 100. So that will start, I think, this spring season for real. If you think the pollen is bad now, just wait a couple weeks following the rain and the 95-degree temperatures. So you've got that to look forward to."
Daniel Swain is a UC meteorology professor who runs a weekly weather lecture.
