Latigo Shore, Malibu Colony among new areas of concern

Building chief lists landslides, seawalls and drainage worries ahead of the rainy season.

There are other areas of concern, says the city's building chief. Latigo Shore Drive in the center of town has been an active landslide area for decades, and it's getting worse.

“Latigo Shore is another property that we feel is critical to keep an eye on,” Yolanda Bundy said. “This is an existing landslide that remains vulnerable, where we feel that wave erosion and drainage issues are going to continue to be a problem.”

Other areas of concern are primarily about future rainfall.

“Specifically on Malibu Colony, we have seen common seawalls that are being affected,” Bundy said. “We are also keeping an eye on the Addison House, Calle del Barco, Rambla Pacifico, Las Flores Canyon, Duke's Restaurant, and Big Rock.”
