Malibu political activists are planning a demonstration Saturday against President Donald Trump, part of the nationwide "No Kings Day" rallies. The Malibu event runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Malibu Library.
At Monday's City Council meeting, Mayor Bruce Silverstein said national politics are creeping into Malibu's local politics: "We have an authoritarian president who's more aligned with dictators than he is with democracy. He's embroiled us in a war of choice and now his goons are invading our state. It's very scary. Be sure to vote. Vote, vote, vote."
