The number of problem properties causing beach erosion and drainage concerns has nearly quintupled in weeks.

The number of properties that are experiencing concerning beach erosion and drainage issues — these are properties that burned down but are still vacant and causing problems — has exploded.
The number went from 16 properties to 56 last week, up to 78 now.
