Irwin leads Ventura County Assembly race at 41 percent
Democrat Jacqui Irwin leads Republican Sam Gallucci in the district that includes the Ventura County section of Malibu.

Election results continue to come in. The California Secretary of State's office updated the statewide counts after 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
In the Ventura County section of Malibu, Jacqui Irwin has 41 percent of the vote. The Democrat is trailed by Sam Gallucci, a business executive and pastor, with 22 percent.
Democrats have a nearly 15 percentage point voter registration advantage over Republicans in this district, which lies mostly in Ventura County but includes the Santa Monica Mountains part of Malibu, as well as Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Calabasas.
