Over in the city of Los Angeles, it's still a see-saw vote tally for Mayor Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman. The race is currently tilting toward the challenger, but her margin has been decreasing overnight.

Raman has a 16,000-vote lead over Bass out of 720,000 votes cast. The latest figures show Raman with 51.1% and Bass with 48.9%.

Raman gave a victory speech Tuesday night in Griffith Park: "Voters demanded change, but change feels good, doesn't it? You know that Los Angeles is a city with hope in its soil, a city built on dreams and ambition and a refusal to accept the status quo."

Karen Bass, the incumbent, also held what she called a victory speech: "Four years ago you gave me the honor of a lifetime, to serve as the mayor of the city that raised me, the city my parents chose to build a life in, and the city I have spent my entire life fighting for."
