For the second time in three years, residents in Las Flores Canyon have asked the city to install speed humps on the road to slow down racers, and for the second time they were told no.
Residents are fed up with car clubs and jerks driving too fast, but Monday night the Malibu city manager said the city looked at this closely in 2022 and once again concludes that Malibu simply cannot install speed bumps on Las Flores Canyon Road. It's too steep, too twisty, and too frequently covered with mud.
Monday night Irvin told the City Council the city has studied this already; the answer then was no and the answer now has to be the same.
