The L.A. County coroner has released limited information about the two men killed in separate, unrelated crashes on Pacific Coast Highway west of Malibu.

Both crashes happened in the darkness on Monday — the first at 4:30 in the morning, the second at 8:50 that night.

At 4:30 a.m., Steve Griffith was killed when he was struck by a westbound car on PCH near Mulholland Highway, at Leo Carrillo Beach. He was 42 years old. No hometown was released.

At 8:30 that night, 62-year-old Anthony Jones was hit at just about the same place. Again, no hometown or other information was released.

The CHP Woodland Hills office has yet to release any details. But firefighters say they had seen a man with a shopping cart on the highway just before the second crash.
