Malibu is becoming a central element in the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the parents of two little boys who were killed by a drunken motorist in a crosswalk over the hill in 2023.

On Friday, former L.A. Dodgers player Royce Clayton testified about the actions of Scott Erickson, a fellow player who had been involved in the 2023 fatal crash. Clayton shared a drink with Rebecca Grossman and Scott Erickson just minutes before the fatal crash.

On the stand Friday, Clayton detailed a four-minute phone call he had with Erickson about 20 minutes after the crash that took the lives of two young brothers.

Clayton says his stomach turned and he thought of his own children when he heard about the crash and about Scott Erickson's role in it. Clayton went to the police.

Erickson and his girlfriend, Rebecca Grossman, had been drinking at a bar in Westlake Village just before their two cars plowed into the Iskander family in a crosswalk in Westlake Village.

Clayton says he went to police after coming across Erickson in a bar near Point Dume the day after the crash. Attorney Brian Panish represents the dead boys' parents.

Clayton said news of what his friend had done disgusted him, and that he confronted Scott Erickson one day after the deaths at a restaurant near Point Dume.
