First Malibu election returns show Stewart, Smith leading
Incumbent Doug Stewart leads the Malibu City Council race in early returns, with Danny Smith close behind for the second seat.

First returns are in from the Malibu City Council election, where voters are choosing two candidates.
Incumbent Doug Stewart leads with 1,121 votes, or 32.93 percent.
Danny Smith is in second with 1,061 votes, or 31.17 percent.
Marianne Riggins has 30.08 percent.
A. Sam Dibaei has 5.82 percent.
